Product development and validation

During my mechanical engineering internship at Hubbell, I worked on luminaire assemblies, impact testing, finite-element analysis, and the preparation of fixtures for certification. The work involved brackets, lenses, LED boards, and the interfaces that hold the product together.

I used Solid Edge in the design and analysis workflow, and worked with the new-product team on part sourcing, assembly, and baseline tests for the Prevent vandal-resistant luminaire series.

I helped assemble fixtures and check component fit and access within the enclosure before and during testing.

Impact analysis and certification support

I performed impact testing and finite-element validation work on luminaire assemblies. I also supported the DLC V5.1 certification process, considering test cost and labor alongside the number of product variants and their sales volume.
